Harry Potter Experimental Zine
The Project
For this project, we had to create an experimental zine. We created 24-pages and bind it as well. We have a lot of freedom with the topic of the zine, so I chose to do Harry Potter transportation.
The Process
I wanted there to be a theme of movement throughout the zine. For the masthead (cover), I cut out the letters of “En Route” to symbolize a portal. For the other pages, I used perspective and depth to relay movement. For the experimental portion of the project, I added vellum pages, used duoton colors, and, as I said previously, I cut out the masthead. I did a stationary binding when it came to assembling the pages. This was such a fun project, and I enjoyed learning more about zines.
